Intercollege Transfer

The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS) welcomes interest from students currently enrolled at UIC who wish to transfer into LAS.

Minimum Requirements for Admission

  • 2.0 UIC term GPA*
  • 2.0 cumulative GPA*
  • One semester of UIC completed coursework
  • Adequate progress towards completion of degree

*Some majors require a different GPA for admission into the major. To review program-specific requirements, consult the LAS Departments sections on the left-hand side of the UIC Catalog.

Before Applying

  • Run a hypothetical degree audit for your major of interest to review the degree requirements and see how your completed/in-progress courses apply.

  • View the updated New Student Academic Guide and the LAS Policies and Procedures.
  • Attend an optional online LAS ICT Information Session to meet with an LAS advisor.

Application Timeline: Applications for Fall 2022 admission have now closed. Applications for Spring 2023 admission will open in September. 

  • Application Deadline for Spring 2023 Admission: Friday, December 9
  • All applications will be reviewed after final grades post for the Fall term
  • Applicants will be notified of decision via their UIC email no later than January 6
  • Admission will be effective for Spring 2023; tuition and will be updated to reflect LAS differential once accepted

Advising Sessions (Optional)

LAS ICT will offer Online Information Sessions in the Fall term for non-LAS students interested in transferring to LAS. Information Sessions will consist of a group session followed by one-on-one advising. Attending an Information Session is the only way to meet with an LAS academic advisor.

Fall 2022 Information Session Schedule will be available in September.

After signing up for an Information Session, you will receive a confirmation email one business day before the session with information on how to attend the meeting.
